Previously in 2008....

Oxjam at the Roadmender

Last year two young lads, Euan Kitson & Elliot Bannister along with there team of volunteers pulled off one the biggest Oxjam events in the country by raising 2600 pounds! And they did it by making loads of noise, the bands that took part were amazing, go ahead watch the video highlights to reminisce!

To follow this up they brought it back to the New Roadmender on Sunday 26th October with a ray of exciting music.

Luke Leighfield, The Retro Spankees, The Pepper Box, Flawed, The Outsiders, The Bromptons, Cityscape, The Nicola Janes, The Mimijajas, Cutout Blonde, Volcanoes

In the busy but atmospheric foyer, the best up-and-coming acoustic acts will be offered an alternative sound throughout the day:
Tom Craven, Bringing Back The Game, Euan Kitson, Daisy Mercedes, Katie Malco, Line and a Dot, Isabelle

What better way to fight poverty than through laughter? And where better to fight it than from the cosy, laid-back bar:
James Acaster, Ben Briggs, Jake Moore

Successfully they raised nearly 3000 through ticket sales, raffles, donated Oxfam goods and small change.

Well done to all those involved. This was by no doubt one of the BIGGEST Oxjam gigs in the country!

The aim is simple....
To make one giant leap towards ending poverty.

The Oxjam event at The Picturedrome, Northampton, was an amazing success. Organised by University Northampton Marketing students; Vicky, Helen, Laura, Jenny & Monika, they all managed to raise a massive £728.31!!! Tremendous achievement, so well done to them for coordinating this event.

The amount raised included ticket sales as well as clothes, badges, and other random things! Thanks to the extra volunteers who managed the stalls, you certainly did raise a lot there!

Brilliant night it was and the atmosphere was amazing with over 200 of you attending, many thanks to all those who took part including the bands, Half Day Closing, Second Son & Dirty Sweet, all played excellent sets and looked after well by sound engineers James Cox & Steve Wakeman.

Lots of pictures and videos was taken, so they will be up as soon as possible, bare with us, also if you took any pics yourself feel free to upload them to the album in this group.
